You don’t have to face this all alone. Whether you’re navigating addiction recovery, anxiety, depression, relationship troubles, or simply feeling stuck, Dr. Rentz is here to help. Therapy provides a supportive space where you can better understand your emotions and the underlying issues contributing to your struggles. Together, we will work to help you work through your troubles without any judgment; this is a safe space. Let’s get started with therapy and take the first step to healing together.

What to Expect

At Rentz Psychology, we understand that taking the first step toward therapy can feel both hopeful and uncertain. Beginning this process often comes with questions, curiosity, and maybe even some nerves, which is completely natural. Our goal is to make that first experience as calm and supportive as possible. Whether you prefer in-person or virtual sessions, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment and a therapeutic space where you’re met with compassion, understanding, and respect.

Your initial appointment is an opportunity to share what’s been bringing you into therapy and what you hope to gain from it. I’ll listen closely as you describe your goals, challenges, and experiences, while also explaining my approach to therapy. This first session is about connection and comfort, helping you get a sense of what it’s like to work together and whether this feels like the right fit for you. Many clients leave that first meeting with a sense of relief, knowing they’ve taken an important step toward clarity and change.

As therapy continues, we’ll work collaboratively to explore patterns, strengthen self-awareness, and create healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. Growth takes time, but each session builds upon the last, helping you move toward greater confidence, balance, and well-being. My role is to guide and support you throughout the process, offering a steady, encouraging presence as you begin to heal and make meaningful progress.

Frequently Asked Questions

Initial Appointment

You will come into the waiting room. I will be in to greet you and walk you into my office. The first session gives you a chance to share what brings you into therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. You will also get a chance to know me and see how I work. As a therapist in Nashville, I will assess at the end of the session to determine if it would be a good fit to continue therapy. I look forward to meeting you and supporting your personal growth.

Medication

Because I am a psychologist and not a medical doctor, I cannot prescribe medication. I can refer you to psychiatrists and I am happy to work closely with them to coordinate your care.

Insurance

Your health insurance company may provide some coverage for out-of-network providers. If you wish to use your health insurance for reimbursement, I can work with you to provide you with a written account of your sessions that you may submit to your insurance company.

Payment Info

In efforts to streamline and make billing hassle free, all my patients provide me with their credit card information which is kept on file through a secure online billing program. My office will charge you automatically for each visit and provide a sales receipt which is sent to your email. If you need other documentation for insurance purposes, we can also provide that for you.

Who Benefits from Therapy?

Anyone seeking meaningful change, greater self-awareness, or emotional relief can benefit from therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, or major life transitions. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore patterns, improve communication, and build healthier coping strategies. Whether you’re navigating a specific concern or simply striving for personal growth, my goal is to help you move toward greater balance and well-being.
